The super-hit song "Hare Ram Hare Krishna," comedy, or the unforgettable and exciting climax, are only a few reasons why Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) is still remembered today. Many actors, including Vidya Balan, Rajpal Yadav, and Akshay Kumar, had standout performances. However, Jimit Trivedi is another actor who made a lasting impression. His scenes with Akshay Kumar were some of the best, so we weren't shocked when he told us that people still refer to him as "Goti"—the name Kumar gives him in the film—even now.
On October 12, Bhool Bhulaiyaa turned 15 years old. Jimit Trivedi will talk about the movie, collaborating with Akshay Kumar, and much more.
Do you realize that Bhool Bhulaiyaa is 15 years old?
No. I appreciate you reminding me. I haven't been on social media in a while. I had no idea because of this. Otherwise, I would have realized after noticing that I was mentioned in anniversary posts by other individuals.
Jimit Trivedi on Getting this Role
It's a lengthy tale. I was performing in the play Ba E Mari Boundary. It was a big success and a turning point in my career. My perfect friend and fellow writer Naushil Mehta called to inform me that we must put on a play for the Prithvi Theatre Festival. Hu Tane Gamu Chu? was the title of the space. An actor's playground is Prithvi Theatre. I easily agreed because it always makes you feel creatively satisfied. While I was in Rajkot, the dates were changed. The show was slated to take place on Sunday, and it was a Wednesday.
I just had 1 1/2 days to get ready. It was about the journey of simply two characters, who ranged in age from 10 to 70. We had the freedom to try new things. So we decided to write up to seven characters and went all out. We also included the Mumbai train explosions track from 2006. Viewers adored it when it was performed at the Prithvi Theatre. I discovered that the play's producer is, Neeraj Vora on the second day. I had no idea until then! I was so engrossed in the creative fulfillment I was experiencing that I forgot to ask who was producing the play or how much I would be paid, etc. (laughs).
Neeraj Vora was introduced to me by Naushel Mehta. He called me a month later to tell me I had been cast in a Priyadarshan movie. He questioned my interest in participating. It was a massive deal to me because it was a dream of mine to work in Hindi movies. "Neki aur pooch pooch," I yelled. I immediately nodded. Neeraj Vora is the sole reason I was able to break into the Bollywood industry. I'm unsure how I would have broken into the business if it weren't for him.
"Yeh waala role yehi ladka karega," Neeraj Vora told the filmmakers. Neeraj Vora gave me the story, along with my characters and sequences, with Akshay Kumar. He told me I would enjoy it. And he was dead on. Mujhe pata bhi nahin chala, film kab shuru hui aur kab khatam hui. What follows is history. I'm still known as "Goti" by others, smiles.
