1. Gehraiyaan
Gehraiyaan will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022. This Shakun Batra film is based on an urban and complex love story that explores everything beneath the surface. In addition to Padukone, the film also features Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
2. Pathan
Pathan reunites Deepika Padukone with her debut co-star Shah Rukh Khan. Produced by Yash Raj Films, this high-action film is directed by Siddharth Anand. John Abraham also plays a pivotal part in the film.
3. Project K
This massively budgeted sci-fi film is much awaited. Directed by award-winning Telugu filmmaker Nag Ashwin, the forthcoming venture sees Padukone sharing the screen space with pan-India star Prabhas. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also essays an important role in the Hindi-Telugu bilingual.
4. Fighter
Fighter is India’s first aerial action thriller. Deepika Padukone will work alongside Hrithik Roshan for the first time through this film. Siddharth Anand, known for helming Bang Bang (2014) and War (2019), is directing the mega-budgeted film.
5. Mahabharata
The story of India’s oldest epic Mahabharata will be told through Draupadi’s point of view in this epic magnum opus where Deepika Padukone will be in the lead role.
6. The Intern
The official remake of Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro starrer The Intern (2015) is being produced in India. Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone will replace the original actors in this remake. Earlier, Rishi Kapoor was set to star in the film, but after his death in 2020, the makers roped in Big B as his replacement.
7. Unnamed Hollywood Film
Though the film’s title is not announced yet, Deepika Padukone will release her next Hollywood film soon. Not much is known about this film at the moment, but reports suggest that it is a cross-cultural romantic comedy.
