83 Trailer: Ranveer Singh and his squad ready to go from being the underdogs to winners
Filmmaker Kabir Khan takes audiences back to 1983, when India made a historic win against the West Indies in the Cricket World Cup tournament.

After an excruciatingly long wait, the makers of the much-awaited film 83 today unveiled the trailer of the big-ticket sports-drama. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film centers around the Indian cricket team’s unprecedented victory against the West Indies in the 1983 World Cup tournament held in London. It stars Ranveer Singh as legendary cricketer Kapil Dev who led team India to victory in 1983.
83 was originally set to hit the marquee on April 10, 2020, but the film’s release got delayed due to the sudden outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. After waiting for more than one-and-a-half years, the film is finally set to enter cinemas this Christmas.
In the 3 minute-49-second-long trailer, filmmaker Kabir Khan takes audiences back to 1983, when India made a historic win against West Indies in the Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Ranveer Singh, who will give you goosebumps as Kapil Dev, shared the trailer on social media and wrote, “The incredible true story of the underdogs who pulled off the unthinkable! 83 trailer in Hindi out now! 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Also, in 3D.”
The film also features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree, and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles. Deepika Padukone plays Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife in the film.
83 is scheduled to enter theatres on December 24, coinciding with Christmas.
