Aakanksha Singh believes in ‘slow and steady wins the race'; the star spoke about her career graph
The South and Bollywood actor Aakanksha Singh hasn’t given any new work in over a decade. The actor worked in both television and films in the South and Bollywood. In a recent conversation with a news portal, she opened up about her philosophy about work and the pace of her career.
She shared, “I don’t feel like it has been 10 years already. I am happy the way I am growing as an actor. I believe in the saying, slow and steady wins the race; and I follow that. I have always looked forward to doing meatier and good roles. However now, I do look for more opportunities to be on screen more often. Having said that, I don’t want to be a part of projects just for the sake of being seen.” In the same conversation she spoke about shifting gears between storylines, saying “Coming from a theatre background, I never wanted to limit myself into one particular thing. After I quit TV, I began exploring and found good opportunities down south. It took time to grow out of that image where industry folks look at you as a television actor. Now they are open to see me in different roles and offer me interesting characters. That’s what I am doing right now.”
She further explained how she changed her image as a TV actor. “The body of work I did post TV spoke for itself. With every project I got one step ahead. I am just happy with the kind of fame television gave me. It is because of that opportunity that I have reached here today” said the actor.
