Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was one of the most anticipated films of the year and high hopes were placed on it. The film, however, did not do as well at the box office as was predicted due to the boycott trend. It endured significant setbacks for almost three years while in production. Although Aamir Khan has not officially commented on the box office report, a recent source states that Aamir is taking a two-month break and is flying to the US.
A news source reported that the actor will utilise the two months off as a sort of break before beginning work on his next film. Laal Singh Chaddha's reception from the audience reportedly broke Aamir's heart. The actor, nevertheless, has handled it well. Khan now intends to take advantage of the upcoming weeks to negotiate the adaptation of Forrest Gump's (1994) worldwide release schedule while simultaneously taking the much-needed break.
It was initially reported that RS Prasanna, who previously directed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), will be helming Aamir's upcoming sports drama. The film might be an adaptation of the 2018 Spanish movie Campeones, which is latin for "champions."
The original Spanish movie is a comedy-drama about a drunk basketball coach who is tasked with building an unlikely champions squad. Spain's official Oscar entry that year was Campeones, which also had the highest box office performance in Spain in 2018.
