Starring Aayush Sharma and Salman Khan in the lead roles, Antim: The Final Truth is one of the highly anticipated films of Bollywood. Earlier, Khan had just an extended cameo in the film. Later, the makers decided to increase his screen time and now the superstar has a full-fledged role in the film.
Sharma, who is married to Khan’s sister Arpita Khan, says in an interview that he did not want his brother-in-law in the film as his inclusion would encourage the nepotism debate that never dies in Bollywood.
“At the beginning of the process of making this film, I was anxious about the fact that he is in the film. There are going to be multiple notions about it including the fact that we are a family, he is making this film to help me in my career and also to spark another conversation on nepotism. Initially, I was against the idea of Salman bhai being a part of Antim,” he reveals.
The actor, who made his acting debut with Salman Khan’s production LoveYatri (2019), goes on to add, “I did not want him to do the film and I told him that. In fact, I went to all the people in the family to convince him not to do it. It was also because I was doing something completely different from LoveYatri and also the other thing was with his presence, whether I would be able to do justice to the film and match up to his hysteria.” Sharma says that Khan was determined to do the film, which he eventually did.
Antim: The Final Truth is the official adaptation of the Marathi film Mulshi Pattern (2018). Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film sees Khan in the role of a righteous police officer while Sharma plays the character of a gangster.
The film is slated to enter theatres on 26 November, 2021.
