Abhay Deol warns people against Anurag Kashyap, calls him a 'liar and a toxic person'

Actor Abhay Deol performance in the recently released webseries 'Trial By Fire' has won him a lot of praise. The actor, who was busy giving interviews and attending events to promote the film, can take a sigh of relief now, given the fact that all his hard work has finally paid off.

During one of the promotional interviews, Abhay also spoke about the controversial allegations made against him by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Almost three years back, Kashyap had stated in an interview that his experience of working with Abhay was “painfully difficult” adding that he does not possess great working memories with him.

“Abhay Deol wanted to do art films but with benefits of mainstream actors. He would stay in a five-star hotel while the entire crew stayed in Paharganj- for a film (Dev D) that was made on a very tight budget,” claimed Anurag.

Kashyap also claimed that Abhay starry tantrums were the reasons directors were skeptical about casting him in their projects.

Rubbishing Anurag's claims that he demanded a five-star hotel stay, Abhay said: "It was Anurag who came up to me and said, 'Listen you can’t stay with us, you are a Deol. So, I want to put you up in a hotel room.’ That's what he told me."

Calling Anurag Kashyap a 'good lesson', Abhay states that he has deliberately avoided him all these years. "I do not need toxic people. Life is short, and there is so much to explore," he said.

However, Abhay called Anurag Kashyap a liar and a toxic person, besides warning people about him.

Deol went on to reveal that after giving negative statements against him, Anurag Kashyap sent him apology messages. "He said, ‘You want to shout at me, scream at me…’ And I replied saying, ‘I don’t care. It’s been 12 years. You do not even feature in my thoughts now; so get over it.’

Abhay said Anurag asked him for forgiveness as he was having a bad day. "I said you are forgiven; because I never had a personal agenda," the actor concluded.

While what transpired between the two is truly unfortunate, we only wonder if the duo would bury the hatchet and collaborate again for a film in the future. Only time will tell!
