Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, a perfectionist, recently discussed the financial stability of his family when he was growing up. While taking a sabbatical from performing, the actor continues to invest in his production company and is continuing the work of his late father Tahir Hussain and uncle Nasir Hussain, both of whom were well-known producers in the Indian film business.
Contrary to popular belief, the actor's family was not financially secure when he was a child.
AAMIR KHAN SHARES ABOUT FATHER’s FINANCIAL ISSUE
Aamir Khan revealed in an interview that his father had financial difficulties, despite the general perception that his family lived a lavish lifestyle. He claimed that his father Tahir Hussain's financial judgments sometimes did not have the desired financial outcomes.
The Laal Singh Chaddha actor sobbed and needed some time to gather himself after remembering his father's efforts.
He shared to Humans of Bombay, "Thing that would trouble us most was Abba Jaan ko dekh ke (seeing our father). Because he was a very simple man. Maybe he didn’t have enough sense that he should not have taken so much loan." He further added that due to the film tickets getting sold in black, producers would often not get their dues. Aamir also said that though his father's few films worked, but he "never had the money".
"Unko problem mein dekh ke takleef hoti thi kyuki un logon ke phone aate the jinse paise liye hain. Unka jhagda shuru hojata tha phone pe ki ‘main kya karu, mere paas paise nahi hai. Meri film atki hai, mere actors ko boliye dates dein mujhe, main kya karu.’ (So it would hurt us seeing him in trouble. Because lenders used to call us. We would hear him fighting with people on the phone, telling them 'what do I do, my film is stuck. Tell the actors to give me dates)," he shared.
AAMIR’s PRODUCTION HOUSE
Aamir's father made sure to return everyone's money despite the financial crisis. He continued by recalling how Mahesh Bhatt was shocked to obtain his money back for a film after giving up all hope of doing so. Aamir said that his mother used to purchase extra long pants for him and his brother Faisal so that they might be used for a longer period of time, and that despite the financial difficulties, his father always paid his school tuition.
In 1999, Aamir Khan established his own production company, which went on to produce a number of box office hits, including Lagaan, Taare Hee Zameen Par, Dangal, and Delhi Belly.
AAMIR KHAN ON THE PROFESSIONAL FRONT
Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan most recently appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha, the authorised Forrest Grump adaptation in Hindi. At the box office, however, the movie flopped. For the foreseeable future, Aamir will work as a producer rather than an actor.
He shared, "I am looking at the next year and a half in which I am not actually working as an actor and I will be working as a producer.”
