Adipurush CONTROVERSY: Nepal Starts Screening Of Hindi Films Once Again; Om Raut's Epic Still Remains BANNED

Adipurush’, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, is the talk of the town. One of the most eagerly awaited films of the year is the one in question. However, it has been actively seeking controversy. Nepal has outlawed ‘Adipurush’.

The movie's dialogue, according to the mayor, disrespects their nation, hence he has declined to allow it to be screened. Later, a Nepali court issued a ruling lifting the prohibition on Hindi films. And today, Nepal is once again showing Hindi films, but not ‘Adipurush’.

Due to lines that implied Sita was the daughter of India, the movie was banned in Nepal before it even hit theatres. It is stated that Sita was born in the Nepalese city of Janakpur. The Nepalese mayor, who banned the film screenings, finds this to be unacceptable. ‘Adipurush’, directed by Om Raut, won't be screened in Nepal even if a Nepali court ruled that the prohibition on films be lifted.

In a statement, the Nepal Motion Picture Association stated that all foreign films would be shown, but not ‘Adipurush’. The discussion about Sita being an Indian woman's daughter is what sparked the ban. Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, is determined to prevent the film from playing, and he is prepared to take the consequences of his decision. Speaking of the lifting of the prohibition, the movie ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachk’e, starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan, was screened on Friday at the QFX Cinema in Sundhara, Nepal.

Regarding the court's decision to lift the ban, the Nepal bench expressed their conviction that no one is superior than their country or nationality. They have the fundamental right to conduct business in accordance with Nepalese law. A film that has been approved by the censor board cannot be banned, according to a Nepalese court, because a bench has already certified it.

‘Adipurush's’ business has been drastically declining in the meantime. The movie has been losing money since Monday, and even the brilliant decision to lower ticket prices did not help. Due to the threats to Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir's lives, the police have given security for them.
