Adipurush Controversy: Prabhas-Kriti Sanon Film Is NOT An Adaptation Of Ramayana, It’s Just An ‘INSPIRATION’ From The Holy Saga, Shares Writer Manoj Muntashir; Netizens Tag Him ‘SHAMELESS’

‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon has become subject to various controversies. The film has been subject to shaming because of its dialogues and imperfect presentation of the holy Ramayana. The film released across theatres on June 16.

While the box office numbers seem to be unaffected, internet users have been objecting to the movie and have been protesting a ban and boycott against the director Om Raut and the movie. Now, writer of the film Manoj Muntashir, has come forth to defend the movie. He addressed the controversies for its dialogues of Lord Hanuman for Raavan – ‘jalegi tere baap ki…’.

His declaration is sure to leave everyone in surprise as he shared that the film is not an adaptation but an inspiration of Ramayana!

In conversation with Aaj Tak, Manoj Muntashir shared, “Film ka naam hai Adipurush. Phele main 2-3 cheezein spasht kardun, phele bhi kahi aur abhi bhi spasht kar deta hoon. Humne Ramayana nahi banayi hai. Ramayana se prerit hain. Hamara disclaimer bhi dekhenge toh hum yehi kehte rahe. Hamare liye aasaan tha marketing strategy ke hisaab se bhi hum film ka naam Ramayana rakh dete. Lekin hume shuru se pata tha hum Ramayana se heavily inspired hai lekin hum Ramayana nahi bana rahe hain. Aur hum sampoorna Ramayana bhi nahi bana rahe hain. Hume Ramayana ke ek yudh kaand ka ek chota sa hisaa liya hai jo film mein humne dikhaya hai.”
