An old video of the actress, however, is currently going viral on Reddit. The actress is seen skipping to name an actress whose performance she loved in the video. Netizens are now outraged that no Indian actresses were mentioned instead of Hollywood actresses.
The video, which appears to be dated 2015, stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as well as dialogue writer and broadcaster Niranjan Iyer. He asked Aishwarya during his show, “Which is film of any actress that you have seen in the recent past that has impressed you?”
Aishwarya replied, “Actors like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett.”
When asked if she admired the work of any Indian actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan replied, “All our veterans. There are so many performances... If I have to mention, I’ll be sitting here forever.”
