Before becoming an actress, Aishwarya worked as a model with different designers and companies. During those days, she got acquainted with model Rajeev Mulchandani. After dating for a brief period, Rajeev allegedly dumped Aishwarya for Manisha Koirala. It was also reported that Aishwarya Rai got into a fight with Manisha over the same. However, later in an interview, Aishwarya denied having any love affair with Rajeev in the past.

2. Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan

Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan had one of the most controversial relationships in Bollywood. Love sparked on the set of 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,' but after two intense years, the relationship turned sour. Reports cited Salman's possessiveness and temper as contributing factors to their breakup. It was reported that Salman physically abused Aishwarya. He even created ruckus on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Chalte Chalte' in which Aishwarya was shooting as the female lead. Due to Salman's behaviour, Aishwarya had to quit the film. Aishwarya's encounter with Vivek Oberoi on the set of 'Kyun Ho Gaya Na' kindled a romance. It became public when Vivek spoke candidly about it on 'Koffee With Karan Season 1.' Vivek started receiving threats from Salman Khan for dating Aishwarya Rai. He then held a press conference and exposed Salman. As a result, Vivek was dropped from multiple projects and people stopped working with him. Soon after, he and Aishwarya parted ways.
