On May 31, popular singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away, leaving the country in a state of shock. While we are all mourning his death, a number of celebrities have expressed their condolences.

Now, Akshay Kumar has reacted to the singer’s death. For the uninformed, KK died on Tuesday at the age of 53 after performing at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. He then returned to his hotel, where he felt unwell. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

During the promotion of his upcoming film Samrat Prithviraj on Wednesday, Akshay Kumar spoke to a news agency about KK's demise. He said, “He was part of my career, he was a part of lots of my songs. In Airlift (2016), he sang a big song that was part of the climax (Tu Bhoola Jise). It was because of that song that the climax sounded so good. It was a very shocking thing that happened last night.”

Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known by his stage name KK, was born in Delhi in 1968 and rose to stardom with the song ‘Tadap Tadap Ke’ from the 1999 film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. He also released his popular album Pal in the same year. The singer established a reputation for himself throughout the years by singing numerous love songs. He was also well-known for his high-octane stage shows.
