Akshay Kumar speaks up on joining politics; says he wants to tackle social issues
Akshay Kumar is regarded as one of the most patriotic actors of all time. He attempts to disseminate social messages through his films. He has appeared in a number of movies, including Airlift (2016), Pad Man (2018), and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017). Therefore, his foray into politics has always been a matter of debate. Many Bollywood stars, like Jaya Bachchan and Hema Malini, have entered politics.
The Samrat Prithviraj (2022) actor recently spoke about entering politics at an event in London while he was there with his family. The actor said he was happy to do films that deal with social concerns and to feature in them. He said, “I am very happy making films… As an actor, I do whatever possible to take up social issues. I have produced 150 films, the one nearest to my heart is Raksha Bandhan.”
Kumar further mentioned that he makes three to four commercial films each year. “I produce commercial films, sometimes with social issues. I produce three-four films a year,” he said.
Akshay Kumar was in London for a book launch event while on vacation with his wife Twinkle Khanna and daughter Nitara. A few days back, Twinkle had posted pictures on Instagram Stories from their trip to London, where they had attended Adele's concert and taken part in the pride march.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu and Selfiee.
