The Girls Will Be Girls filming is complete. This may be the first big accomplishment for the debut film from Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha's production company, Pushing Buttons Studios. The film was shot in gorgeous locations throughout Uttarakhand during a 45-day schedule.
The movie, which is directed by Shuchi Talati, is about a 16-year-old girl who attends a prestigious boarding school in a small Himalayan town and how her rebellious coming-of-age phase is sabotaged by her mother, whom herself was never allowed to reach adulthood. Pushing Buttons Studios, Crawling Angel Films, Dolce Vita Films, and Blink Digital Media are all contributing to the creation of this Indo-French co-production.
Talking about the film, Richa says, “The movie Girls Will Be Girls will stay in my mind since it features a lot of firsts. It is the first movie I've made and the first movie since I got married. This is the film that aided in my growth both as an actor and producer. We will miss the fact that the entire cast and crew were so accustomed to working together that it felt more like a family.”
“We are excited just because we are in a situation where we can work with a lot of very cool and creative people to prepare tales. Our actors have excelled themselves, and I am extremely proud of them. I'm grateful to everyone on the team who put in so much effort to make this dream a reality. We are currently preparing for step two, which is post-production. Can't wait to tell the world about this,” said Ali.
