Alia Bhatt is all over the news ever since she announced her pregnancy with Ranbir Kapoor. The actress, who tied the knot in April is currently busy promoting her maiden production venture, Darlings. She recently questioned in an interview whether a woman's life should be altered simply because she is "young and pregnant." She went on to question why starting a family or having a child should change her professional life.
The Kalank (2019) actress was quoted saying in the interview, "everything a woman does is put in headlines and for some reason the eyeballs are always on women's choices".
"Everything a woman does is put in headlines. Whether she has decided to become a mother, she is dating somebody new, she is going for a cricket match or on a holiday. For some reason, the eyeballs are always on women's choices. What I consciously want to do is follow my heart and go with my instinct and gut. That's exactly what I have done through my professional and personal life and things have worked out beautifully," she added.
She also talked openly about how some people reacted to her pregnancy. She stated, "Of course, I am young, but why does that have to change anything? Why does having a family or a child have to change my professional life? They are two completely different things.”
Meanwhile, Darlings is set to premiere on Netflix on August 5.
