Alia Bhatt shares her experience as a creative producer for her film Darlings’; Says numbers don’t make sense to her
Alia Bhatt is debuting as a creative producer in her upcoming film ‘Darlings’. The film is co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, the makers shared the trailer of the film and fans were in love with what they saw. During the trailer launch, Alia was asked several times about producing the film and in a recent interview, the actor shared how she navigated the box office with her creative angle.
Along the lines of box office numbers, the actor expressed how she does not understand the numbers that come to play. She shared how her creative instinct has been a driving force in her career and it was even as a producer. “Numbers don’t make any sense to me. I have a business [bent of] mind, but if you talk numbers, I [drift] out of the conversation. When it comes to being a producer, I will always be a creative producer. I respond instinctively.”
About the film ‘Darlings’. It is a dark comedy. The story is about a wife abducting her husband to avenge the mistreatment and harm he inflicted on her in the past. Her mother helps the girl to carry out this task and the two face many obstacles in their plan. Shefali Shah plays Alia Bhatt’s mother in the film and it is evident from the trailer that they do share a great camaraderie on screen. Alia spoke about her character saying “Throughout the film, whenever my character says something, you expect the mother to respond in a certain way, but she reacts in a completely [different] manner. I have always been spontaneous [as an actor], and it was a delight to know that Shefali is the same. There was unpredictable energy flowing between us, which was great because comedy is all about timing and feeding off each other’s energy.”
The film ‘Darlings’ also stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Matthew in pivotal roles. Alia Bhatt fans would be glad to know that the actor has recently wrapped up her film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which also stars Ranveer Singh and will soon be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Brahmastra’.
