Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi to arrive in cinemas on 25th February
Alia Bhatt’s much awaited film Gangubai Kathiawadi will now be released on February 25th and will clash with Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

The makers of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming biographical film Gangubai Kathiawadi have announced that the film will be theatrically released on February 25th. The official Instagram account of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bhansali Productions has shared the poster of the film with the release date. The makers wrote, "Witness her reign in cinemas near you on February 25th, 2022. #GangubaiKathiawadi", as the caption on the post.
Initially, the movie was scheduled to release on January 6th, but to avoid a clash with SS Rajamouli's film, RRR, starring Alia Bhatt, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, and Ajay Devgn, the makers had pushed the film further. However, the movie will now be released on February 25th and it will clash with Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which is set to release on the same date.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is a crime drama, adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi's book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. It features Bhatt in the title role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved, and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s. The film also stars Seema Pahwa and has cameo appearances by Ajay Devgn and Huma Qureshi.
