Amazon Prime releases statement over the cancellation of Gehraiyaan trailer launch in Alibaug

Amazon Prime Video was set to launch the trailer of the much-anticipated film Gehraiyaan in Alibaug next week. However, the launch event has been cancelled due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the country, especially in the state of Maharashtra.
Gehraiyaan is a modern relationship drama, featuring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday in the primary cast. Directed by Shakun Batra, who has previously helmed Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012), the film is produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. The film was shot last year during the pandemic.
Announcing the cancellation of the launch event, Amazon Prime Video released a statement and said, “Owing to the current surge in COVID-19 cases, we have decided to take an alternate route for the trailer launch of our upcoming title, Gehraiyaan. We won’t be doing the trailer launch in Alibaug as originally planned. We are, however, looking forward to bringing the trailer to you.”
Gehraiyaan is scheduled to hit the platform on January 25, 2022.
