Brands and movie stars have always been linked. It is usual for an actor's bankability to depend on the number of endorsement deals they have, even though brands frequently use movie stars to raise awareness and establish credibility for their products.

Recently, a thread on Reddit showcasing throwback advertisements included some of the biggest names of the past. In addition, it's interesting to note the kinds of products that were being promoted. The advertisements are a wonderful time capsule.

Akshay Kumar is the face of the cigarette brand

The old advertisements truly amazed the audience. One commented, "Man..Dimple was (fire emoji)," in the comments area. "Vinod and Jackie Khanna were the leading men in Indian cinema! Damn.” Another guy wrote,
