Legendary Indian spinner and former cricket team captain Bishan Singh Bedi, aged 77, passed away on October 23, leaving a profound void in the hearts of fans and the cricketing fraternity. The news of his demise was followed by tributes from personalities of only the cricket world but also the Bollywood industry. Bishan's son Angad Bedi is a popular Indian actor and is married to Neha Dhupia. Reently, Angad took to his X account (formerly known as Twitter) and thanked Salman for calling him after he lost his father.
For the unaware, Salman also posted a condolence message on social media after the demise of Bishan Singh Bedi. Salman wrote, "My dear brother Angad it saddens me to hear abt your dad,Wat a bowler n wat a man,we as a family have loved n respected him.God bless his soul. Now u r the head of the family. Upar wala sir dekh ke Sardari deta hai. Your dad was a legend brother. Love u. Imangadbedi."
Responding to Salman Khan's touching tweet, actor Angad Bedi, known for his roles in various Bollywood films, including a collaboration with Salman in the action-packed 'Tiger Zinda Hai', reciprocated the sentiment with heartfelt gratitude. He expressed, "Aaounga toh saath... varna Satsiakal sir!! BeingSalmanKhan bhai that phone call meant a lot.. thank you."
Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Growing up our lives are moulded by the spirit, the gusto and sheer grace of people who we see and experience around us. Mr. #BishanSinghBedi was one of them. May God bless his soul & thank u Sir for teaching us so much about sports & life. You will be missed immensely. RIP."
To this, Bedi replied, "Shah bhai ab kya likhoon main aapko ... i am numb as i am at a loss of words ... bapu ke baare main itna kuch likh ke ... hamesha ki tarah dil jeet liya aapne."

Born on September 25, 1946, in Amritsar, Bedi made a significant impact in the world of cricket, donning the Indian jersey from 1966 to 1979. His remarkable performance in 67 Tests, securing 266 wickets, and his pivotal role in India's triumph during the 1971 series against England, underscored his stature as a cricketing icon. Notably, he led the team with valor after Ajit Wadekar's unfortunate injury.
Beyond his international triumphs, Bedi was a stalwart in domestic cricket, notably representing Delhi in the prestigious Ranji Trophy for several years. Renowned for his finesse as a spinner, Bedi's influence transcended generations, leaving an indelible mark on the cricketing landscape.
Talking about Angad Bedi, he was recently seen in Netflix anthology 'Lust Stories 2' and Bollywood film 'Ghoomer' alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher. Angad worked with Salman Khan in 2017 film 'Tiger Zinda Hai'. However, he will not be a part of 'Tiger 3' which is slated to release on November 12, 2023.
