Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has said that he regrets not spending enough time with his daughter Aaliyah when she was growing up. He told Film Companion that he was so focused on his career that he neglected his family. He said that he realized his mistake when his daughter was older and he saw how much time she had spent with Imtiaz Ali, the father of her friend Ida.

Kashyap said that he knows Aaliyah has forgiven him, but he still feels guilty about not being there for her when she was younger. He said that he will make it up to her by being more present in her life now.
Kashyap is a successful filmmaker who has made some of the most acclaimed films in recent Indian cinema. However, he said that his success came at a price. He said that he worked long hours and was often away from home. This meant that he missed out on a lot of Aaliyah's childhood.
Kashyap said that he is now trying to make amends with Aaliyah. He said that he is spending more time with her and trying to be a better father. He said that he knows he can never make up for lost time, but he is committed to being there for her now.
