Anurag Kashyap SLAMMED Kareena Kapoor Khan As She REJECTED 'Bombay Velvet', Shared 'Next Time You Shouldn’t Ask Who Is In The Film…’ (Watch Video)

Kareena Kapoor Khan was not concerned with how others regarded her at the time, and she is unlikely to be concerned today. However, Kareena was famous at the time for her remarks and actions. So much so that her professional choices and reasons for rejection used to make news. The actress has a long list of blockbuster films that she has refused to undertake from 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' to 'Ram Leela,' or 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' to 'Kal Ho Naa Ho,' there is something for everyone. Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' was one such film that was rejected.

Kareena has previously been scolded by Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Zoya Akhtar for rejecting their films.

Kashyap also mocked the actress for turning down his film 'Bombay Velvet.' Kareena was notorious for not reading scripts and instead acting in films based only on the star cast. The same thing happened with 'Bombay Velvet.'

However, when Anurag Kashyap contacted Kareena Kapoor Khan for 'Bombay Velvet,' the film was still lacking a full cast and he was also approaching other actors for the film. Obviously, Bebo rejected the film, and Kashyap revealed the reason on Karan Johar's famed couch, where he took harsh digs at Kareena Kapoor. During the rapid-fire round, the filmmaker was asked for advice for Kareena Kapoor.

Kashyap responded without hesitation, “Next time you shouldn’t ask who is in the film, you should ask what is the film.”

Interestingly, Kashyap is not the first director to criticise the actress for prudishly refusing films. Karan Johar confronted her after she refused to take her calls and opted to begin filming Sooraj Barjatya's 'Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon' instead of 'Kal Ho Naa Ho.'

Kareena Kapoor was also a strong contender for the role of 'Devdas.' She then criticised Bhansali for rejecting the film, claiming that she would have looked out of place as Paro with jooda and heavy jewellery. She had been on a rejection streak with Bhansali since then. She even had a look test with Ram Leela but left for unknown reasons.

Kareena Kapoor Khan walked out of her debut film, 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai,' because she believed her co-star, Hrithik Roshan, would overshadow her and she would not receive enough attention from the film. Returning to Anurag Kashyap's rapid-fire round, he also had suggestions for Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
