Anushka Sharma posts a photo from Jhulan Goswami's biopic Chakda Xpress while filming in the rain: 'A story that needs to be told'
An image from Anushka Sharma's upcoming movie Chakda Xpress was shared on her Instagram handle today. Following the failure of 2018's Zero, Anushka's first acting project is a biopic of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
Anushka captions the post, “A moment from a story that needs to be told!”
Anushka has recreated a scene from Jhulan's life in the image she shared, in which she can be seen making a call while seated at a phone booth as it is pouring outside.
Anushka has been filming for the Prosit Roy-directed movie and will shortly begin another schedule. Anushka's three-year absence from the big screen is over with this flick. She transitioned into parenthood in the meantime when she and her husband Virat Kohli welcomed their first child, a daughter named Vamika, in 2021.

A new update on the movie came from Anushka, who trained cricket in Mumbai and England. To prepare for a very special film Chakda Xpress, she explained, "I'm currently getting trained at a cricket stadium in Leeds, United Kingdom. Jhulan Goswami, a great pacer and former captain of India, served as the inspiration for the part I'm currently performing.
Also speaking candidly, the actor described how Jhulan Goswami's tale served as an eye-opener for her. She remarked, "The script completely captivated me. You will undoubtedly be introduced to the world of women's cricket just like I was.”
Produced by Clean Slate Filmz, Chakda Xpress is a Netflix Original Film. The movie will premiere on February 2, 2023.
