Anushka Sharma’s brother Karnesh reveals that the actress will always be involved with Clean Slate and Clean OTT, even after she resigned

Last month, Anushka Sharma's brother, film producer Karnesh Ssharma, announced the launch of Clean OTT, a streaming platform focused on female-oriented content. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Karnesh explains his goals for Clean OTT, the role his sister Anushka will play, and how his gender-neutral parenting style helped him develop respect and understanding for women.

Anushka announced her departure from the siblings' other venture, production house Clean Slate Filmz, shortly after Clean OTT's announcement. Anushka declared that she would concentrate on her "first love," acting, and leave the production to her brother. Karnesh claims that it will be the same in Clean OTT. "Anushka will be involved as an actor, but not as a producer or creative contributor. But I'm always a well-wisher. She is gifted and one of the best there is "he claims.

He goes on to say that when he was younger, he and Anushka were treated as equals, with no regard for gender. He attributes this to his military upbringing. "I come from a defense background," he asserts. My father served in the Indian Army, and Anushka and I were never handled unequally because of it. We were never given the impression that she was a girl and I was a boy. I had to come home early after playing in the evening just as much as she did. It's not like I was given much leeway there. That's what Defence taught us, I believe. I'd like to give a lot of credit to our upbringing as well as the Indian Armed Forces. We were born into a system that was gender-neutral.”

Clean OTT still has a long way to go before its launch next year. However, Karnesh claims that the process has already started. "We didn't stop writing," he says with a grin, adding that they have 18-19 titles in the works. "We have the right people in the right jobs, and we hope to be able to tell important stories soon," he concludes.
