The most talked-about reality programme in India is Bigg Boss. It has a devoted fan base. Although the show has been on for fifteen seasons, fans still adore it. There have been a lot of controversies that have occurred inside the house. Some even went on to the police.
In Bigg Boss season 7, one such incident had occurred. Armaan Kohli and Sofia Hayat were the contestants. During a task, the two got into a nasty argument. While working on the task, Sofia Hayat had been physically abused by Armaan Kohli. A case against him had been brought by Sofia.
In 2013, Lonavala police arrested Armaan from the Bigg Boss house after finding that he had reportedly assaulted Sofia while they were both contestants on the show. Armaan was detained in 2014 after Sofia filed a lawsuit, but he was later set free. The police had previously reported that he had been arrested for violating the Indian Penal Code's sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354 a (sexual harassment).
The matter is now reopened after eight years. The police informed Sofia that the case will shortly reopen since the court has decided to hear it.
Hayat mentioned that it was Salman Khan who previously rescued Armaan. She stated that while she had forgiven Armaan, she nevertheless wanted to bring up the incident to make the point that people cannot hit women.
