Advait Chandan's "Laal Singh Chaddha," starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, was Atul Kulkarni's screenwriting debut.
In a recent interview, the actor discussed the criticism Aamir received for his 'gimmicky' performance in "Laal Singh Chaddha" and the much-discussed Shah Rukh Khan appearance.
Atul claimed that Aamir and the filmmaker had mutually agreed upon the actor's rendition of Laal and its tone. The actor-screenwriter said, "I wasn't really really on set." He only made two trips.
However, Atul stated that due of the character's later development, what people were saying before watching the movie generally mellowed out after they saw it. The actor continued by saying that he completely comprehends if certain people experience it. This is also due to the fact that people have kind of already seen hints of it in other movies. He claims that rather than being a response to what Aamir did, it is a response to the memory. Atul claimed that it was more motivated by the memory of his characters than it was by Laal.
The crowd in the movie liked Shah Rukh Khan's special appearance, which was another thing they loved. Atul revealed some details about the matter, saying that a team had created an excel spreadsheet to determine Laal's age at the time he met Shah Rukh. He believed he was fortunate to receive that chronology. Since he is a Delhi native, Shah Rukh is known for his iconic style. He claimed that even if he had thought about it, he would not have been able to process it if the timelines had not coincided.
Additionally, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya played significant roles in "Laal Singh Chaddha."
