Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been named the only Indian recipient of the TIME100 Impact Award for his work in cinema and child rights. The award, which is given to individuals who have made a significant impact on the world, recognizes Khurrana's work in pushing the boundaries of Indian cinema with his films that address social taboos and his work as a UNICEF ambassador for child rights protection.

Khurrana's films, such as 'Vicky Donor' (2012), 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' (2017), and 'Andhadhun' (2018), have tackled topics such as sperm donation, erectile dysfunction, and color blindness in a way that has helped to destigmatize them. He has also been a vocal advocate for child rights, and has worked with UNICEF to raise awareness about issues such as child labor and trafficking.
In a statement, Khurrana said he was "proud and humbled" to receive the award. "This is the second time that the prestigious TIME Magazine has chosen to recognise the work that I do on camera as well as off it," he said. "I'm deeply grateful to TIME Magazine for bestowing me with the TIME 100 Impact honour this year. I have and will always try to push the content envelope of India through my brand of cinema."
Khurrana is the second Indian actor to be honored with the TIME100 Impact Award. The first was Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who was awarded in 2021 for her work in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
