What makes this casting particularly intriguing is that Khurrana, known for his versatility, shares not just the role but also the batting style with Ganguly, as both are left-handed batsmen. Producers are confident that Khurrana's skills will enable him to accurately capture Ganguly's on-field persona. However, to truly embody the cricketer, Khurrana will undergo extensive training to understand Ganguly's life beyond the cricket field.
A source close to the film revealed, "Ayushmann will begin training in Mumbai next month, giving him over two months to prepare for the role before the project starts rolling in December." In an interesting twist, Ganguly himself has already met with the actor.
