For the past few years, there has been speculation that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project ‘Baiju Bawra’. After ‘Gully Boy’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, this will be their third collaboration. However, the project's creators have yet to make an official statement. Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty appears to have auditioned for a key role.
Rhea Chakraborty is said to have auditioned for a female lead role that Bhansali was looking for. Though nothing has been proven, it appears that Chakraborty is working hard to return to the film industry.
Ranveer Singh has previously collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on films such as ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, and ‘Padmaavat’. This will be their fourth time working together. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, was seen in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, for which she received this year's National Film Award for Best Actress.

While the public awaits the official announcement of the project, Bhansali is hard at work on ‘Heeramandi’. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Sheikh are among the cast members. The series delves into the cultural reality of ‘Heeramandi’, a sparkling area, through the lives of courtesans and their patrons set against the turbulent backdrop of the 1940s Indian liberation fight.
