After the release of her debut film, Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), opposite Salman Khan, Bollywood actress Bhagyashree became an overnight sensation. However, the actress, who is from a royal family, had rebelled against her parents by leaving home to marry Himalay Dassani, her longtime boyfriend and school crush. Bhagyashree had left her work soon after their wedding to become a proud homemaker. Millions of her fans were stunned by Bhagyashree's choice to take a break from acting, and many directors who had been waiting to cast her were disappointed.
Bhagyashree, on the other hand, always put her family and relationships first. She did make a comeback to the silver screen after a few years, and it was for good. Now, the actress has revealed that her in-laws have never understood her fame and dedication to her career as an actress. Her husband, Himalay, does not approve of her romancing others on television, according to her.
Bhagyashree revealed in a recent interview that the moment she entered into her in-laws' home, she had to shed her actress image and do household chores like any other homemaker. She said, "I had Maine Pyaar Kiya behind me and then I got married into a household, which had nothing to do with films. So, they couldn't understand anything about the way life was outside. Literally, when I was working, I would step my foot into the house, and my life would change. I would no longer be Bhagyashree the actress. There would be so many things that you would have to do, hands-on like any other housewife does, and I would be doing all of them."
Bhagyashree also revealed that her husband Himalaya was overly protective of her and didn't like her shooting love scenes with other actors, which limited the number of films she could work on without him. As a result, she put her relationship ahead of her profession.
