Karisma Kapoor, who has acted in some memorable films like Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Raja Hindustani (1994), Biwi No. 1 (1999), Hum Saath Saath Hai (1998), Fiza (2000), and Zubeida (2001), was the reigning actress of the 90s. Granddaughter of ace filmmaker Raj Kapoor and daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Karisma was born to be a star.
However, Lolo's career was not free from controversies and catfights. Apparently, Karisma did not get along with her arch-rivals Pooja Bhatt and Manisha Koirala, who were constantly vying with her and intentionally passed unsavory comments to discredit her.
During the same time, Karisma had revealed that both Pooja and Manisha were mean to her for no reason. The duo used to target her for having a Kapoor surname and had also made distasteful remarks about her parents.
In an interview with Stardust magazine, Lolo had opened up about being constantly targetted by Manisha and Pooja. "You tell me, what is my fault? It was Pooja Bhatt who said something derogatory about my mother and I obviously reacted strongly to that since she had no business talking about her," the Dangerous Ishq (2008) actress said.
On Manisha's irksome conduct, Karishma had said, "Manisha called me a mixed-up kid without any reason, so I gave it back to her as well. I’m so tired of this. Why can’t these girls keep their mouths shut once and for all? I don’t understand what’s wrong with them. In every interview they give, they have to mention my name in some context or the other. Especially Pooja Bhatt and Manisha Koirala. I really don’t know why. Yes. I’m proud of being a Kapoor and will always be. And how should that affect others? I can’t help these poor souls if they don’t have a surname like Kapoor to boast about."
Rubbishing Manisha's claim that she is jealous of her, Karisma replied that she has no reason to be jealous of Manisha and that her allegations are laughable.
While substantial time has passed since this episode, Karisma too has moved on to better things in life. A multitasker, the actress now enjoys spending time with her kids Samaira and Kiaan, and her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and her family.
On the work front, she was last seen in ALTBalaji's web show Mentalhood (2020) which revolved around the different natures of mothers and the way they dealt with their children.
