Bollywood mourns over death of Sidney Poitier: Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher share memories
Legendary Hollywood actor Sidney Poitier passed away at the age of 94. He was the first black actor to get an Oscar for best acting. Poitier contributed so much to the Hollywood industry that his loss is sad for everyone. Bollywood celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Dia Mirza and others posted on social media to pay tribute.
Anil Kapoor shared an old picture of both on Twitter. He wrote, “Sidney Poitier, my childhood idol, lifelong inspiration and star of some of my favourite films... Forever your fan and admirer… Rest In Peace.”
Anupam Kher also shared a picture with the star from 2013 from his twitter handle. He wrote, “I had the honor of meeting the legendary actor #SidneyPoitier in early 2013. He was gentle, compassionate and generous with his time for me. We talked about Indian cinema. He was especially happy to know that I had an acting school. Dia Mirza shared Poitier’s photo on her Instagram account while calling him, ‘Star, Icon and legend’. Richa Chadha and Shibani Dandekar also paid tribute to the late actor.
