According to a report by The Indian Express, several Bajrang Dal members were briefly detained on January 4 after ripping off the posters for the upcoming movie Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in an Alpha One Mall theatre in Ahmedabad's Vastrapur district in a show of protest against the movie's release.

JK DANGARR STATED
According to JK Dangarr, Inspector of the Vastrapur Police Station, "About 10–12 Bajrang Dal members went to the theatre inside the Alpha One mall in Vastrapur to pull off Pathaan movie posters. The movie posters were damaged by being kicked, trodden on, and torn.
Other than that, nothing was harmed and no vandalism was reported. After that, they appeared and staged a protest against the film's distribution. After around 1.5 hours, we held 5–6 of them before releasing them." Dangarr also stated that the movie theatre had not made a police complaint.
HITENDRASINH RAJPUT STATED
Hitendrasinh Rajput, a representative for Gujarat Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), reportedly stated, "Workers for Bajrang Dal learned that Pathaan movie posters had been displayed in the theatre. Therefore, it was a "pradarshan (protest)" because the police detained them because they opposed the movie's release in theaters."
ABOUT PATHAAN
