Boney Kapoor becomes victim of online fraud; Rs 3.82 lakh withdrawn from a credit card
Well-known producer Boney Kapoor has become a victim of credit card theft. An amount of Rs 382000 has been withdrawn from one of his credit cards. The producer has filed a police report, and the case is currently being investigated. When the bank called Boney Kapoor on March 30th to pay his credit card bill, he discovered the scam.
Officials from the Mumbai Police Department have been informed. On Wednesday, the complaint was filed at the Amboli police station. It has been registered under the IPC and the Information Technology Act in this case.
On February 9, five online credit card transactions were completed with Kapoor’s card. This was accomplished by stealing Boney Kapoor's personal information and password.
The complaint also mentioned that Boney Kapoor came to know about this fraud when an employee of the bank called him on March 30 regarding bill payment.
Amboli police station officials said that investigation has been started and efforts are on to nab the accused.
