Ameesha Patel, an actor, has made headlines on multiple occasions, for both positive and negative reasons. She has been involved in a number of recent scandals, most of which have been triggered by her comments or Instagram postings.

She and her business partner, Krunal, were involved in the widely publicised instance of a cheque bounce. There has been a new development in the case that could lead to serious consequences for her in the near future. The actor from Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai ignored the court's repeated summons. A hearing has been set for April 15 after the court reportedly voiced its discontent over the same.
Ajay Kumar Singh, a local of Harmu in the Ranchi district, had accused Patel and her business partner of defrauding him. According to his claim, Patel had asked for his financial backing for a movie project titled 'Desi Magic'.
After that, he apparently gave Rs 2.5 crore to Patel's bank account to use for the film's production and promotion. The movie was supposed to be shot starting in 2013, however it was never completed. When the film was finished, Patel and her business partner promised Kumar Singh that he would get his money back, plus interest.

Patel had issued him two bad checks in the amount of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh in October of 2018. She is being held in accordance with Criminal Procedure Code articles 420 and 120.
