Darsheel Safary, best known for Taare Zameen Par, recalls how he was bullied in school for his teeth and how that benefited him to land the role

Due to his part in Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary received massive fame. Since then, the actor has been out of the entertainment industry finishing his education and learning about theatre. Additionally, he had the opportunity to collaborate with Priyadarshan on the 2010 films Bumm Bumm Bole, Zokkomon (from Walt Disney Pictures), and Midnight's Children (2012). In a recent interview, Darsheel talked about how he was teased in school because of his height and teeth—the same teeth that helped him land his big break in the Bollywood industry.

Speaking about receiving several jabs and jokes about various aspects of his life, Darsheel said, "I have experienced these things both personally and outside of performing. My height, my teeth, and everything else has all drawn ridicule. About one kilometer separated my teeth. Every event has a purpose. That occurred before I finally received the film due to those teeth." To avoid being impacted by the criticism, he continued he views it as a learning opportunity.

The 25-year-old also addressed dealing with public opinion since he was 10 years old. He claimed that as a child, he was empathetic and used to be hurt by everything."You must mute some of the noise when you become an actor, but not all of it. You must be aware of what is and is not accurate. Darsheel is lazy; I need to work on it if they say that. But it's incorrect if they claim that Darsheel despises acting, he continued.

In his most recent short film, Capital A, Small A, which debuted on Amazon Mini TV on November 17, Darsheel played a love interest. Revathi Pillai was matched with him. They portrayed a young couple who take heat for their disparity in height. He claimed that the director Vishal constantly told him to stoop over to simulate the height gap effectively.
