The 1990s were a wonderful era for Bollywood, with many actors succeeding and leaving an indelible mark. Deepak Tijori is an example of such an actor. He played memorable roles in a number of successful films of various genres. As a result, he is still a household name and a recognizable face today. He spoke exclusively about his skills, current projects, and much more.
When we asked about his career in the 90s he said “I was only enjoying work. I was not looking at factors like whether or not my film will be a hit or a flop. At that time, when you are hungry, what comes on your plate is what you want to eat. I was not choosy about things, as I did not know the industry. I did not belong to a film industry family. So, I did not know that ‘iske saath kaam karo’, ‘uske saath kaam mat karo’, ‘yeh script karo’, or ‘yeh script mat karo’. Gareeb ki jholi mein jo aaya, main lete gaya! So after Aashiqui (1990), good directors and good scripts were coming away. I kept on working. I never planned anything.”
Furthermore, we asked Deepak if he is still in touch with Shah Rukh Khan he said “I am in touch with Pooja and Rahul. I am not in touch with Shah Rukh. But when we meet, we are the same. In fact, whether it's Shah Rukh or Salman or Aamir, whenever we meet, we pick it up from where we left.
Deepak also spoke about his upcoming movie Tom Dick and Harry 2 and he said “I am going to revive it. It was stuck, as there were some differences between the funders and the producers. We have shot for 10 days. We’ll not shoot the remainder this year.”
