Dhoom 4: Aamir Khan Wishes to Compete With Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh But Makers May Cast 'Younger Stars' To Revive The Action Franchise

The producers of the Dhoom franchise have started discussing a fourth installment despite the high level of fan interest in the series. The film is making headlines for a variety of reasons, including who will be in the spotlight and who will direct the fourth installment. It was previously reported that Aamir Khan, who appeared in the previous installment, was in talks with YRF. Reportedly, Mr. Perfectionist recently pitched to big-shot Aditya Chopra the idea of making a new film in the 'Dhoom' series, in which he could bring back his 'Dhoom 3' characters of Sahir and Samar. However, it appears that he is not enthusiastic about putting him back on the fourth installment.

Aamir starred alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film Laal Singh Chaddha. After the failure of LSC, Khan became extremely selective, and he abruptly left the Hindi remake of the Spanish film Campeones. According to the rumour mill, Aamir has already contacted Aditya Chopra about directing the fourth Dhoom film.

Recent rumours suggest that Aditya Chopra is no longer interested in working with Aamir Khan on a third Dhoom film. You read that correctly. The producers of Dhoom 4 are looking to cast new, young faces in the lead roles. According to the media, Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor are among the young actors the producers are eyeing to advance the franchise.

“Aamir has always been very good with action and you can see that in films like ‘Dhoom 3’; ‘Ghajini’, ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Ghulam’. He took a break in between as he didn’t want to repeat himself with similar content. But now, Aamir is keeping an eye out for a script which will present him with an opportunity to do thrilling action,” a source revealed.

There has been much speculation that Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead role in Dhoom 3, but only Aditya Chopra knows for sure. He set the record straight during a promotional interview for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, telling a major website, “I wish I was Aditya Chopra to answer this… I’d love to be a part of those films or Dhoom 4 or any film of that nature, but as of now nothing has been offered to me.”
