Dia Mirza is one of the most loved actresses of all time. She made her Bollywood debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001 and went on to capture the hearts of the audiences with her performance. She recently shared her thoughts on having sex before being marriage and having children. For the unversed, Dia married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in February 2021 and announced her pregnancy in April 2021, within two months of marriage.
The former Miss Asia Pacific called it a "personal choice," and stated that only those who don't feel threatened can make that choice. She added that people aren't as progressive as one might think. In a recent interview, Mirza said, “I feel when it comes to personal choice and the power of personal choice, it can only be celebrated by those who ensure they make personal choices, not threatened, not afraid of making the choice that you need to as an individual.”
She further added, “And while there may be many people with regressive thoughts on things like premarital sex or premarital pregnancy or any other things for that matter, there are enough people who recognise the fact that it is a personal choice, that people have the right to do if they choose to. I don’t think we are as progressive as we imagine or as we consider ourselves to be.”
On the work front, Dia Mirza will be next seen in Taapsee Pannu’s maiden production, Dhak Dhak alongside Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi.
