Dibyendu Bhattacharya to essay the role of Anushka's coach in Chakda 'Xpress
Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who won rare reviews for his act in the series ‘Jamtara’, will be playing the coach of Anushka Sharma in the upcoming sports biopic Chakda 'Xpress.
Bhattacharya recently finished shooting for the Kolkata schedule of the film. Chakda 'Xpress also marks the comeback of Anushka Sharma, who was last seen in the 2018 film Zero (which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif).
In the sports drama, Anushka will be playing the role of Indian pacer Jhullan Goswami.
"Chakda 'Xpress is a special film which depicts the never-say-never attitude of one of the biggest female icons in the field of cricket. Also, the fact we recently completed our Kolkata schedule, which also happens to be my home town is special too," says Dibyendu.
Praising the team of Chakda 'Xpress, the actor said, "Anushka as well as the entire team are very talented. It is always a pleasure to work with such hard-working people."
Produced by Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Prosit Roy, Chakda 'Xpress is inspired by the incredible story of cricketer Jhulan Goswami and her journey as she moves ahead with her dream of playing cricket for India, while dealing with the misogynistic environment around her.
Though the release date of the film is yet to be announced, it will exclusively stream on Netflix.
