Director Aashiq Abu confirms offering a thriller film to Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy filming his next Pathaan, co-starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.

Shah Rukh Khan has been entertaining film enthusiasts for close to three decades now. He has delivered some of the most iconic films of Indian cinema, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) and Devdas (2002), to name a few. Though SRK works in Bollywood, filmmakers from across industries want to work with him.
The superstar is already working with Tamil filmmaker Atlee on his next directorial venture, co-starring Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover. And now director Aashiq Abu, who is presently busy promoting his Malayalam-language political thriller Naaradan (2022), has confirmed being in talks with Khan for a thriller. Yes, you read that right!
Talking to a leading entertainment portal, Abu said, “See, we just finished a meeting with him. We shared an idea. He was happy with it. But, you know, it will take some time. Since the pandemic is still going on, his schedules, our schedules, anyway, it is going to take time.”
When asked about the genre of film, the filmmaker added that the idea in his mind is of a thriller. “I can't say that. But, yes, some kind of thriller,” he added.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has jetted off to Spain to film the next schedule of Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan, co-starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. The film is set to release on January 25, 2023.
