Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu, and Ishita Dutta are set to recreate the magic in Drishyam 2 after stunning everyone with a compelling story and superb performances. The latest we hear is that Akshaye Khanna has also joined the cast of the film.
The makers have introduced a new character in the story. He is said to play an officer who is Tabu’s close friend and helps her with the inquiry. Khanna is expected to play a tough, smart, sophisticated, and sharp cop on Ajay’s track, determined to blame him.
According to the report, this is not a supporting character, but rather one that has been written specifically for him and will likely stand out in terms of impact and performance.
Drishyam 2 will be Devgn and Khanna’s fourth collaboration. Aakrosh (2010) was their most recent collaboration. After a 12-year hiatus, they will reunite for the film. Other films in which the actors have appeared include Deewangee (2002) and LOC (2003).
Ajay Devgn recently shared a statement about returning with Drishyam 2. “Drishyam was loved and it’s a legend. I am now elated to present yet another interesting story with Drishyam 2. Vijay is a multidimensional character and he creates an engaging narrative onscreen. Abhishek Pathak (director) has a fresh vision for this film. I’m keenly looking forward to part 2, filling in the large shoes of the earlier film with people investing in the mystery and the characters,” the actor said.
