They were even more perplexed by the fact that Ranbir was smiling while posing with a chimpanzee in one of the images.

On Twitter on Thursday night, the images were posted by several of the actor's fan clubs and industry insiders. Ranbir appeared in the photographs seated in a shack-like setting with many books, garbage, and vases behind him, wearing an olive green overall and running shoes. Ranbir grinned in one of the photos as he posed with a chimpanzee. Many people were puzzled at the photographs when they first appeared online, but some astute fans figured it out.
