The shooting of Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha's first-ever production titles 'Girls will be Girls' has commenced. Directed by debutante Shuchi Talati, the project marks the Hindi film debut of Malayalam actress Kani Kusruti.
Filming recently started in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand. The story follows the life of a 16-year-old girl Meera, who is rebellious and the bitter-sweet fun banter that she shares with her mother. Set in a boarding school in a small hill station, Girls will be Girls is a coming of age flick that promises entertainment which hits the right note.
Noteworthy, the project is an Indo-French co-production and is being jointly bankrolled by Pushing Buttons Studios, Crawling Angel Films and the French production house Dolce Vita Films.
Sharing thoughts about her first maiden production venture, Richa Chadha said, "These are humble beginnings and I am very grateful as I always wanted to create good quality cinema. Shuchi (the director) and I have been friends since college days and I am happy to be a part of her debut film."
"I am very confident of the fact that Shuchi will make good cinema which will entertaining and engrossing," Richa concluded.
