Amazon Prime Video rolled out an ambitious five-year road map on Thursday, unveiling a 40-strong slate of new titles, new films (both originals and collaborations), and new seasons to be streamed over the next two years at a star-studded event hosted by Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sumukhi Suresh.

Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi, and Rohit Shetty's Indian Police Force, starring Siddharth Malhotra and Shilpa Shetty, as well as fresh seasons of Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, Mumbai Diaries, Four More Shots Please, and of course, The Family Man, are among the list.

Juhi Chawla, who had a lovely comeback in Sharmaji Namkeen (2022), leading the cast of Hush Hush, Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya in the supernatural horror series Dhootha, and Sonakshi Sinha playing a police inspector in Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar's serial killer drama Dahaad.

The streaming service, which has been in India for half a decade, also has a slate of original films, including Madhuri Dixit Nene's comedy Maja Maa, collaborations like Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Tiku Weds Sheruand co-productions like Akshay Kumar's Ram Setu, and the crime thriller Neeyat, with Vidya Balan.

Amazon has also introduced Prime Video Store, a transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) movie rental business in India that is available to both Prime members and non-members, as one of its numerous hooks for viewers. Customers will be able to rent the latest Indian and foreign films before they are released in theaters.

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios; Kelly Day, VP, international, Amazon Prime Video; James Farrell, head of Amazon Studios' local originals; Gaurav Gandhi, country head, Amazon Prime Video India; and Aparna Purohit, head, India originals, all attended the event.
