‘Gadar 2,’ which is set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, features Sunny Deol as Tara Singh. He will be reprising the role again after the original film became a smashing hit. This time, he will struggle to bring his son home from Pakistan. At the premiere of the movie's teaser, Sunny claimed that politics which retired Brigadier Hardeep Singh Sohi has recently criticized was the root of the animosity between the two nations.

The first movie came out in 2001, more than 20 years ago, and the sequel's action-packed teaser brings back a lot of memories. In this movie, Ameesha Patel will also appear, while Charanjeet, her and Deol's kid, will be portrayed by Utkarsh Mishra. The spectators eagerly anticipate seeing the old Tara Singh return on the screen to shatter bones.

Brigadier Sohi, however, did not agree with his remarks regarding the tense relationship between India and Pakistan. ‘Gadar 2's trailer debut, Sunny Deol remarked, “There is love on both sides (India-Pakistan). It is the political game that creates all this hatred. And you will see the same in this film as well that the people do not want us to fight with each other.”

On Twitter, Sohi posted the popular news portal video and claimed to have criticised the actor for his political views. According to an article by a popular news portal, Hardeep Singh Sohi, a former brigadier and combatant in the Kargil War, has won three gallantry awards in a single period of time. At the ‘Gadar 2’ event, Sunny Deol made a statement that Sohi slammed.

He wrote, “Sunny Deol has not taken a Pakistani bullet in chest. He has not lost colleagues to terrorism abetted, armed, trained and sponsored by #Pakistan. Let him take a bullet in leg only and then praise Pakistan. I will salute him. Commercial interests should not make a person blind.”

'Gadar 2,' starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, is scheduled to open in theatres on August 11, 2023.
