Gangubai Kathiawadi Trailer out! Alia Bhatt’s mafia queen look will mesmerise you

The much-awaited trailer of Alia Bhatt’s period drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi, is now live on YouTube. Fans had a lot of excitement and expectations from the trailer, and they are all satisfied to the level where now the film has a responsibility to live up to the newly raised excitement from fans.

The trailer shares the mafia queen look of Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn’s powerful cameo as one of the Mumbai underworld dons, Karim Lala. The film will also include Shantanu Maheshwari as Alia's suitor, Ramnik Lal, and Huma Qureshi. They appear in the trailer alongside Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, and Jim Sarbh.

In the trailer, Alia Bhatt is shown as a vulnerable girl forced to work in Kamathipura, a red-light area. Fighting with her circumstances, she later rose as a matriarch and eventually became the mafia queen of Kamathipura.

The film is based on one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi's book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai, and features Alia in the lead role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved, and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.

The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and presented by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios). It will be released in theatres on February 25, 2022.
