In an unexpected ceremony, filmmaker Hansal Mehta married his longtime partner, Safeena Husain. The director shared the good news on social media on Wednesday morning, along with photos from the wedding ceremony, in which the couple can be seen signing marital documents and hugging one other. Safeena is the founder of Educate Girls, a non-profit organization. The couple tied the knot in San Francisco, California, in presence of family and friends in an intimate ceremony.
Taking to Instagram, the Scam 1992 (2020) director shared pictures from the ceremony and wrote a heartfelt note that read, “So after 17 years, two children, watching our sons growing up and chasing our respective dreams we decided to get hitched. As always in life, this was also impromptu and unplanned. Our vows, however, were truthful, and but for this little ceremony, they would never have been saying. Filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj and Anubhav Sinha, as well as actors Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpayee, and Pratik Gandhi, sent Mehta words of happiness. Rajkummar wrote, “Congratulations my fav couple. You guys complete each other. I love you both.” Manoj Bajpayee commented, “Wow! Wow!! Congratulations & best wishes to both of you lovelies.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Hansal Mehta is currently working on the sequel of his hit web series, Scame 1992. The sequel is titled Scam 2003: The Telgi Story.
