Kirron Kher got married to famous actor Anupam Kher. She had been married to Gautam Berry before. Sikandar Kher and Tara Alisha Berry are her two children from her first marriage.
Kirron Kher's first movie was the Punjabi movie ‘Aasra Pyar Da’ in 1983. She then stopped acting until 1996. During this time, she had a small part in the movie ‘Pestonjee’ (1987) with Anupam Kher. Kirron got back into playing in the mid-1990s with a play called ‘Saalgirah’. ‘Sardari Begum’, a movie by Shyam Benegal, marked her return to the big screen.
Kirron Kher became known for playing the perfect mother in Bollywood films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Hum Tum’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, and many others.
